Multichoice, owners of African Magic channels, has said it will soon release seven varieties of movies, series and reality shows on the various African Magic channels.
Some of the movies include Dilemma, Venge, Movement (Japa), The Rishantes, Turn Up Friday, Owambe Saturday, and Mercy What Next?
The organisation said some of the shows would start airing by November 1 while others would run from January.
Disclosing this at a premiere of the movies in Abuja, Mnet Maketing Manager, Ms Yewande Adeojo, said the idea for Africa Magic was to always tell the various stories of the society through movies and entertainment.
Adeojo noted that her organisation had always come up with new stories which were focused on different areas of the country to entertain and impact positively on the viewers.
On his part, the Executive Producer of Rishante, one of the newly released movies, Mr Dimbo Atiya said the challenges faced during the movie productions was lack of electricity, adding that they had to run generators for electricity, thus increasing the cost.
He said about 300 actors were engaged and empowered by Multichoice during the shooting of the movies.
Atiya, explained why he believes Nigerians would connect with The Rishante family at the premiere event.
“On Rishante, we are focusing on the strength of standing together as a family. It is especially important in times like this in this country where everybody is struggling to survive. There is always this support system when you go back to the family structure.
“For us, it felt like a very important time to tell a very beautiful family story. And of course, for Africa Magic, which is a station that caters for the family. Everything they do is all about the family,” he said.
Also speaking, Executive Head, Content and West Africa Channels, MultiChoice Nigeria, Busola Tejumola said: ”The Rishantes and Movement Japa will take our viewers on an emotional rollercoaster as they get immersed in the lives of the characters, their relationships and their different journeys. Each plot, twist and suspense will keep viewers from across Africa on the edge of their seats as they follow the drama and connect with the characters.
