rBarring hitches, Victor Osimhen and Odion Ighalo are expected to join the Super Eagles camp in the Moroccan port city of Tangier today ahead of the 2022 Qatar World Cup qualifiers against Liberia on November 13.
Speaking after the team’s first training session in Morocco yesterday, Coach Gernot Rohr said 21 players had the first training session yesterday as Osimhen and Ighalo are expected today while John Noble who was a last-minute replacement for sick Francis Uzoho will team up with the team tomorrow (Thursday).
Also, in readiness for the all-important tie, Rohr said the team perfected training for shots at goals which he said he was satisfied with.
“We had 21 players with two goalkeepers and we are still missing three players that will arrive tomorrow (today). But it was a good training session which we already started at the hotel with fitness to recover. This afternoon, we came to see how the stadium will look like at 5 pm which is the time of the match on Saturday and it was ok. We have a good feeling with the players as some of them played two days ago for their various clubs and travelled so we have to be careful with injuries.
“But everything went well; we are in a good shape with some good goals as we had some shooting exercise,” he said.
The German tactician added: “We have a good condition in Morocco to prepare and I hope by tomorrow (today) everybody will be here with all the players in camp.
“We hope everything will go well without any injury and the match will be on Saturday afternoon in a good condition with this good weather in a wonderful pitch at the stadium.
