His fame and gradual success came after some difficulties he faced, which are;
1. James Brown admitted to have been rejected by his mother
James said he was rejected by his biological mother two days after his birth. Six years later, he got to know his mother but was still not accepted by her.
He didn’t receive love from his mother even when he knew who she was. That alone must have been traumatizing to him as a child.
2. He faced dislike and violence from his family due to his choice of lifestyle
He also made mention of his family members disliking him. His aunty bit him on the eye in the course of a fight. This happened because they weren’t in support of his dreams.
