
Edo governor, Godwin Obaseki on Wednesday appointed Prof. Sunny Adagbonyi as the Acting Vice Chancellor(VC) of Ambrose Allli University, AAU, Ekpoma after he sacked Prof Benson Osadolor with immediate effect.
Mr Osarodion Ogie, Secretary to the State Government announced the change in the leadership of the troubled institution in a statement issued in Benin.
Though he said the sack is with immediate effect, he did not give any reason for Osadolor’s removal.
“The governor in the exercise of his powers under the Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma Law and the Special Intervention Law, 2021, has relieved Prof. Osadolor of his appointment as acting VC of Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma with effect from Tuesday.
“The governor, in his capacity as Visitor to the University, has further approved the immediate appointment of Prof. Adagbonyi as acting Vice-Chancellor; Prof. Theo O. Agueda as acting Deputy Vice- Chancellor, Administration and Prof. Marshall Azeke as acting Deputy Vice Chancellor, Academics
“The governor thanks Prof. Osadolor for his service and wishes him well in his future endeavours,” he said.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) Obaseki in Nov. 5, 2021, dissolved the Governing Council of Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma and appointed Prof. Osadolor, as Acting Vice Chancellor of the institution
