Abubakar Jibrin Giri, the chairmanship candidate of the All Progressives Congress won the Gwagwalada Area Council in the Saturday Council elections.
Giri a former chairman of the council, defeated his PDP opponent, Mohammed Kassim, INEC Returning Officer Umar said.
Jibrin Giri polled 11,125 votes to beat Mr Kassim of the PDP who polled 9,597 votes in the chairmanship race.
But the PDP beat the APC in six out of the ten wards in the council.
