Tube Afrique, the organisers of The Tube Awards, led by Niran Adedokun, have announced the decision to reward thespians and film practitioners with 27 award categories.
This was made known at the unveiling ceremony of The Tube Awards, which drew a large number of Nollywood stars and practitioners to Eko Hotel and Suites on Sunday.
The event, which was anchored by Segun Arinze, also had Toni Kan, Ada Ameh, Kingsley James, Bakky Adeoye, Fidelis Duker, Tope Duker, Yemi solace, Lancelot Imasuen, Charles Novia, Madam Kofo, Tai Ajai-Lycett, Emeka Ossai and several others in attendance.
Adedokun said: “This is the first time in Nigeria the TV industry will be getting a well-deserved spotlight. It will be a night of a mixture of glamour and serious, and we are excited to share what we have in store for the industry.
“Despite the technological advancement in TV viewing, TV remains a valuable platform where memorable stories and characters are told and built. So, this is our way of reminding the public why those who bring these stories to life are important by recognising and rewarding excellence.”
The award will reward achievements in the artistic and technical fields of TV production in Nigeria and Africa.
