The Kano State Government has dismissed four staff members of the Bureau for Land Management for allegedly selling public landed properties.
This is contained in a statement signed by the state Commissioner for Information, Mr Muhammad Garba and made available to newsmen in Kano on Tuesday.
The statement further alleged that the four persons forged documents, issued false cadastral information and falsified official records.
Garba gave their names as Abdulmuminu Usman-Magami, a Senior Survey Assistant on Salary GL 06; Abdullahi Idris, a Senior Land Officer on Salary GL 10; Mr Audu Aliyu, a Press Attendant on Salary GL 05, and Baba Audu, an Assistant Chief Land Officer on Salary GL 13.
The commissioner explained that the officials were dismissed based on the recommendations of an investigative committee set up by the government, following the complaints levelled against them.
He stated that their dismissal was in line with Civil Service Rule No.04406, adding that the measure was to serve as a deterrent to others.
