DJ Mustard’s estranged partner Chanel Thierry has broken her silence after the music producer filed for divorce just a year and a half after they said “I Do.”
The top music producer filed for a dissolution of marriage in the Los Angeles County Courts on Monday, May 2 in the Los Angeles County Courts. He cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split.
Mustard says they entered into a pre-marital agreement and the property and cash should be divided accordingly. He is asking that his “jewelry and other personal effects” be ordered his sole and separate property, along with “earning and accumulations…before marriage, during marriage and from and after the date of separation,” according to The Blast.
Breaking her silence, Chanel said its more ‘than heartbreaking’ that Mustard filed for divorce.
Mustard and Chanel had been together for years. He started dating the model when he was 19 years old before they got engaged in 2018.
“Thank you for the kind words, thoughts, and prayers,” Chanel wrote on her Instagram Story on Tuesday, May 3, confirming the divorce reports.
“Anyone that followed me or knows me personally knows my family means the world to me. I’ve [dedicated] 12 loyal years and it is more [than] heartbreaking to see things end.” she added
Mustard and Chanel tied the knot in October 2020 at a big wedding which was attended by some big music stars such as Ella Mai, Bow Wow, and Joie Chavis among many others
Mustard, whose real name is Dijon McFarlane, and Chanel Theirry have 3 kids, ranging in age from 2 to 10. He’s asking for joint legal and physical custody.
