Nigerian UFC fighter, Kamaru Usman fails to reclaim belt from Leon Edwards in their trilogy encounter

Nigerian UFC fighter, Kamaru Usman has failed to retrieve the welterweight title after he lost to Leon Edwards over five rounds at UFC 286 in London. The British fighter came out on top, with the three judges scoring it 48-46, 48-46 and 47-47 in his favour. He was rewarded for punishing Usman with a barrage of leg kicks, slowing the 'Nigerian Nightmare', who marched forward with his usual suffocating style but that march became more of a hobble the longer he was sliced up.   The bout at the O2 Arena was billed as the biggest British MMA fight in history. Edwards earned a shocking win against Usman in A...

British professional boxer, Conor Benn is being investigated over claims he failed another drugs test prior to the one which forced the 11th-hour cancellation of last Saturday night’s fight with Chris Eubank Jnr. The new claim is likely questions over the ability of the British boxing authorities to conduct effective drug-testing procedures. That Benn now appears to have previously tested positive for what is claimed to be the identical drug that saw his fight with Chris Eubank Jnr to be called off. He now risks a ban that could be longer than the customary four-year suspension for a single violation, which could keep this 26-year-old out of the ring into his thirties. BREAKING : Usyk retain heavyweight tittle after defeating Anthony Joshua {VIDEO}

Oleksandr Usyk out boxed Anthony Joshua to retain his IBF, IBO, WBA (Super) and WBO titles in a split decision on Saturday. The Judges scored the fight 115-113 to Joshua, 115-113 to Usyk and 116-112 to Usyk. Joshua looks spent. But then almost out of nowhere the Briton lands a big left hook followed immediately by a right hand. Usyk’s motor is simply too good. He won’t stop throwing and is trading shots with Joshua in a round that he probably doesn’t need to have. What valor, from both men! Usyk lands a crushing left hook, followed by a three-punch combination. And there’s the final bell. This one was closer than the first instalment and Joshua showed far better, but we should be looking at an uncontroversial points decision for Oleksandr Usyk. https://twitter.com/...

It's all about the fight," Joshua said. "I'm just ready for 12 rounds, 100 percent. Anything shorter than that, it's a bonus." Usyk rematch a major setback – Anthony Joshua,

Anthony Joshua is unlikely to have home advantage for his world heavyweight rematch with Oleksandr Usyk this summer. Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn wants to stage the rematch back at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium because he feels fighting in London will boost his chances of winning back his belts. But Saudi Arabia have made a site offer which could generate twice as much fighting at Spurs’ home and Hearn says Usyk would prefer to go abroad. Both fighters must agree the venue for the rematch, which has a 50-50 purse split, and Hearn can understand Usyk’s reluctance to return to London. He does not want to hand Joshua home advantage, even though he dethroned Joshua there in September to become a two-weight world champion. “If contracts and site fees that have been offered come t...
