National Assembly workers suspend strike

National Assembly workers suspend strike The Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria (PASAN) of the National Assembly has suspended its strike. The workers embarked on the strike action last Monday, to press home demands for payment of some allowances. PASAN Chairman, Sunday Sabiyi in an announcement made on Tuesday June 14, said they agreed to suspend the strike following some agreements reached with the leadership of the Senate. The workers however threatened to resume the industrial action if agreements reached were not implemented by the end of July.

FCTA Logo The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) on Monday morning barred all unvaccinated workers and visitors from its premises. Many of the workers and visitors were seen stranded at the gate grumbling and begging to gain access as early as 8am. The administration issued a memo last week advising staff to go and take their COVID-19 vaccines to avoid the latest development. About 1.5m Nigerians in Italy can’t return home or get job

At least, 1.5 million Nigerians in Italy cannot return home or get a job in the foreign country because they do not have Nigerian passports. This was disclosed by Mr George Omo-Iduhon, Chairman, Nigerians in Diaspora Organisation Europe (NIDOE), Italy Chapter. He said more than 1.5 million registered Nigerians urgently needed the Nigerian passport. Omo-Iduhon stated this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos on Saturday while reflecting on the activities of NIDOE in Europe. NIDOE is the European arm of a global Nigerian diaspora network, established in year 2000 by former President Olusegun Obasanjo. The Nigeria Police Force has announced that a computer-based test for candidates who were shortlisted in the 2020 recruitment exercise will hold on Friday and Saturday. Force Public Relations Officer for Lagos State Police Command, CSP Adekunle Ajisebutu disclosed this in a statement on Thursday. He said the venue for the Lagos edition of the test is the WAEC Testing and Training Centre in Ogba.
