The Peoples Democratic Party has suspended former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, former Senate President/Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Anyim Pius Anyim and other party officials like Prof. Dennis Ityavyar and Dr. Aslam Aliyu for alleged anti-party activities.  The party also referred Benue State governor, Samuel Ortom to its Disciplinary Committee for alleged anti-party activities. The Independent National Electoral Commission has released the results of winners elected into the Edo State House of Assembly with the Peoples Democratic Party leading with 12 seats. A CBN joint security operation with EFCC & ICPC, busted a bank that reportedly had over ?287million redesigned Naira notes hidden in its vault.  A video shared online shows new Naira notes stacked on shelves and on the floor in an inner room in the bank.  This discovery was made amid cash scarcity that has seen Nigerians queue for hours at ATMs to get cash. This comes as many Nigerians battle with cash unavailability. Cross River residents storm banks in search of cash

Residents of Calabar city in Cross River state, on Monday, stormed the various commercial banks in search of cash. The News Agency of Nigeria correspondent who monitored the situation reports that there were long queues at the Automated Teller Machines across the city. NAN also reports that there was also a long queue of those trying to gain access to the banking hall for one transaction or the other. However, most of the ATMs were not dispensing cash, and security personnel at most of the banks were having a tough time trying to maintain order as a result of the crowd.
