2027: I don’t have any anointed candidate – Gov Uba Sani

Kaduna State governor, Uba Sani, has insisted he has no anointed candidate ahead of the 2027 party primaries.

He also vowed not to interfere in the process that will produce candidates for elective positions.

Sani made the declaration on Tuesday during the breaking of Ramadan fast with members of the Kaduna State House of Assembly in Kaduna.

The governor urged all aspirants seeking elective offices to canvass support from party members rather than rely on political godfathers.

“My advice to every aspirant who is seeking any office is to get the support of party members. I have no anointed candidates in the coming primaries that will take place between April and May this year. I will abide by what the people decide,” he said.

He stressed that the primaries must be transparent and credible to ensure unity within the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Sani vowed not to meddle in the selection process that will produce flag bearers of the All Progressives Congress in the state.

“I will not interfere with the primaries or the selection process. Whoever emerges as the choice of the people will have my full support,” the governor added.
