FIFA Releases Updated Men’s World Rankings After 2026 World Cup
FIFA has published its latest Men's World Rankings following the conclusion of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, with Nigeria's Super Eagles retaining 26th place globally.
Despite remaining in the same position, the Super Eagles continue to rank as the fourth-best team in Africa after their most recent international outing—a 2-1 friendly defeat to Portugal in June under head coach Eric Chelle.
Among Africa's top-ranked teams, Egypt recorded the biggest improvement following an impressive World Cup campaign. The Pharaohs advanced to the Round of 16 before bowing out after a narrow 3-2 defeat to Argentina, earning them a rise to third in Africa.
