June 12: Criticise Me If You Must, But Keep Faith in Nigeria – Tinubu tell Nigerians

President Bola Tinubu has urged Nigerians to remain hopeful and committed to the nation’s progress, even when expressing disagreements with his administration.

Speaking during his nationwide broadcast on Friday to commemorate the 27th anniversary of uninterrupted democratic governance in Nigeria, Tinubu emphasized the importance of citizens’ confidence in the democratic process.

The President noted that democracy can only thrive when people trust its institutions, highlighting the National Assembly, the judiciary, the media, and civil society organizations as vital pillars safeguarding the country’s democratic system.

Tinubu encouraged Nigerians to voice their concerns and criticisms constructively while maintaining faith in the nation’s future.

“Criticise me and disagree with my policies if necessary, but never lose confidence in Nigeria,” he said.

Addressing the youth, the President urged them to invest their energy and talents in building the country rather than seeking opportunities elsewhere.

“Nigeria is your home and your future. Build your dreams here, work here, and contribute to the nation’s growth. Great nations are built by people who stay and solve challenges, not by those who abandon them,” Tinubu stated.

He also paid tribute to members of the armed forces, police, and intelligence agencies for their dedication to national security, while appreciating traditional rulers, religious leaders, and community stakeholders for promoting peace, unity, and reconciliation across the country.
