U.S. President Donald Trump has sharply criticised several conservative media figures who were once aligned with his MAGA movement but have recently opposed his stance on the Iran conflict.
In a series of posts on Truth Social on April 9, Trump defended U.S. military involvement in Iran while taking aim at commentators including Tucker Carlson, Megyn Kelly, Candace Owens, and Alex Jones. He dismissed them as not being true supporters of the “Make America Great Again” movement, branding them “low IQ” and accusing them of undermining his position.
Trump argued that their opposition to his policies suggests sympathy for Iran obtaining nuclear weapons, a claim he strongly rejected. He also downplayed their relevance, alleging they are now relying on podcasts and online platforms for attention after losing influence in mainstream media.
The president went further by launching personal attacks on each individual, referencing past controversies and questioning their credibility. He maintained that their views do not reflect the core principles of his political base and insisted his leadership remains focused on national strength and preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear capabilities.
The criticism comes amid growing tensions between Trump and some right-wing commentators. In recent days, Carlson and Kelly have openly challenged his rhetoric and decisions regarding the Middle East, while Owens has labelled him a “Mad King.” Meanwhile, Jones has gone as far as urging members of Trump’s cabinet to consider invoking the 25th Amendment.
Trump concluded by reaffirming his belief that the MAGA movement stands for strength and victory, asserting that his administration remains committed to protecting U.S. interests and maintaining global influence.
