The Federal Government has released a list of 48 individuals and groups allegedly involved in financing terrorism in Nigeria.
The list was made public by the Nigeria Sanctions Committee and includes suspects linked to groups such as Indigenous People of Biafra, Ansaru, and Islamic State West Africa Province.
The development follows earlier remarks by Christopher Musa, who noted that tracking and prosecuting terrorism financiers remains challenging due to legal hurdles and international connections.
Meanwhile, the 2026 Global Terrorism Index by the Institute for Economics & Peace revealed a 46% rise in terrorism-related deaths in Nigeria in 2025, with fatalities reaching 750.
The report attributed about 80% of the deaths to ISWAP and Boko Haram, underscoring Nigeria’s position among the countries most affected by terrorism globally.
