EFCC Warns Content Creators Over Unauthorized Use of Name, Logo in Skits

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has cautioned content creators against using its name, logo, uniforms, or identity in skits and other media productions without official approval, warning that offenders risk prosecution.

In a statement shared on its X platform, the agency said it has observed a growing trend of creators incorporating EFCC branding into online content without permission.

The commission noted that many of such skits misrepresent its values and operational standards, stressing that it has not authorised any individual or group to use its identity for entertainment purposes.

The EFCC clarified that it does not endorse, sponsor, or approve any comedy or digital content featuring its image without prior written consent.

It further advised the public to immediately stop using its official symbols or likeness in any production without clearance, warning that strict legal action will be taken against violators.
