‘I’m No Longer Angry With Politicians’ – Emeka Ike Declares House Of Reps Ambition

Veteran Nollywood actor Emeka Ike has officially declared his intention to contest for a seat in the House of Representatives.

Naija News reports that the actor made the announcement in a viral video circulating on social media.

According to him, he will be contesting to represent the Bwari/AMAC Federal Constituency in Abuja under the platform of the Nigeria Democratic Congress.

“I’m contesting for the Federal House of Representatives under the Bwari/AMAC Constituency in Abuja, and we want to make a strong federal statement,” he said.

Speaking on the impact he hopes to make if elected, the actor said Nigerians must rise and reclaim political power through active participation in the electoral process.

“If I’ve entertained and made Nigerians happy over the years, I now want to step into the real system. Let’s stop those people who think power belongs only to them.

“We need to stand up, take back power, and reposition our country. Nigerians should not be living like beggars,” he stated.

Emeka Ike added that he no longer blames politicians for the country’s challenges, insisting that citizens must also take responsibility by participating in elections.

“I’m no longer angry with politicians because they’ve shown us who they are. I’m angry with Nigerians instead. Go and get your PVCs; that’s the most important noise we should be making right now,” he added.

Meanwhile, Cubana Chief Priest has denied reports claiming he lost the All Progressives Congress House of Representatives primary election for the Orsu/Orlu/Oru East Federal Constituency in Imo State.

In a statement shared on Instagram, the businessman said he never participated in the primary election after the party adopted a zoning arrangement ahead of the exercise.

According to him, the party leadership, led by Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma, informed him that it was not yet the turn of his local government area to occupy the seat.

ChiefPriest explained that out of respect for the party’s leadership and internal agreements, he chose to stay away from the primary election venue entirely.

He further stressed that his support for President Bola Tinubu and the APC remains strong ahead of the 2027 general elections.
