Two top governorship aspirants of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, Sharafadeen Alli and Teslim Folarin, have separately met with Bola Tinubu in Lagos as part of moves to advance their 2027 ambitions.
The meetings, held on different days, are believed to be part of efforts by both politicians to secure the party’s governorship ticket ahead of the election. Alli reportedly met with the president earlier in the week, while Folarin’s meeting took place on Thursday.
Sources indicated that both aspirants sought Tinubu’s support and possible endorsement as the race within the party begins to gain momentum.
Confirming his visit, Alli shared details on his Facebook page, describing the meeting as insightful and inspiring. He praised the president’s leadership qualities and noted that their discussion reinforced his confidence in Nigeria’s direction.
He added that Tinubu emphasised the importance of responsible leadership, describing it as a duty that requires strength, compassion, and a commitment to improving lives. Alli said he left the meeting motivated and optimistic about the country’s future.
Similarly, Folarin also confirmed his meeting, describing it as a meaningful “father-to-son” conversation with the president.
Both politicians remain key contenders within the APC as political activities ahead of the 2027 Oyo State governorship election continue to gather pace.
