Atiku Rules Out Leaving ADC Amid Leadership Crisis

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has dismissed speculations about defecting from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) despite the party’s ongoing leadership crisis.

Speaking in an interview with BBC Pidgin, Atiku said there is no need to leave the party, reaffirming his commitment to its structure and direction.

He expressed confidence that the courts will uphold the leadership of David Mark, noting that the legal process is expected to be resolved soon.

Atiku also emphasized that ADC already has an established structure and significant investment, making defection unnecessary, especially when compared to some other parties.

On the issue of the party’s presidential ticket, he described ADC as a coalition of prominent leaders, including Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso, stressing that all members are regarded as key stakeholders.

His remarks come as the party continues to grapple with internal disputes ahead of the 2027 general elections.
