The Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, has stepped down from her role in the Federal Government.
She announced her resignation on Friday via her official account on X, describing the move as the end of one chapter and the beginning of another in her public service journey.
In her message, Onyejeocha expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the opportunity to serve in his administration. She also thanked ministry staff, supporters, and Nigerians for their backing during her tenure, reaffirming her commitment to national development.
She noted that her resignation marks a new phase, emphasizing her continued dedication to service and progress in Nigeria.
Her decision follows a directive from the President instructing political appointees intending to contest in the 2027 elections to step down from their positions.
Onyejeocha, who represented the Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives from 2007 to 2023, is reportedly preparing to return to the National Assembly by contesting for the same seat once again.
