Two people sustained varying degrees of injuries following a collision involving two trucks at the Arepo Bridge area along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway in the early hours of Sunday.

The crash, which occurred around 4 a.m., involved an empty American Cola truck and a Seaco truck.

The accident has led to traffic gridlock along the busy highway as officers of the Federal Road Safety Corps are making efforts to tow the affected trucks from the road.

Eyewitnesses at the scene said one of the drivers was rushed to a hospital after sustaining serious injuries.

A witness, Mrs Ibukun Victoria, told PUNCH Online that the other driver suffered only minor injuries.

Another driver who witnessed the incident attributed the crash to waste materials left on the highway.
