Blord trademarks ‘Ratel’, issues cease and desist to VeryDarkMan

Celebrity Nigerian cryptocurrency entrepreneur, Linus Williams Ifejirika, popularly known as Blord, has issued a cease and desist letter to VeryDarkMan, stopping him from using the name “Ratel”. Blord made the development known in a now trending post on his Instagram page after trademarking “Ratel” as his business brand name. Speaking in a public statement shared on his Instagram story, Blord stated that VeryDarkMan can only make use of the name after getting his approval. He wrote, “I have directed my SAN to issue a cease and desist to VDM to stop using my brand name ‘Ratel’. The Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, will witness 9 of his children get married on the same day.  The invitation card for the multiple weddings has gone viral on social media. All 9 children and their partners were mentioned in the wedding invitation card. The minister's children who are to wed include five sons and four daughters.  Their partners are also from influential families, as the invitation shows.  The weddings will hold at the Central Mosque, Abuja, by 1:30 pm on February 6, information on the card reveals.   Arrangement for the weddings is said to be in the final stages.

Renowned Nollywood special effects artist, James Akaie, has died following a tragic explosion on a movie set. Naija News reports that the incident was confirmed by filmmaker and producer, James Abinibi, in a statement posted on the RockBottom Flix Instagram page on Friday. According to Abinibi, Akaie sustained fatal injuries from an explosion that occurred at a film location in Abeokuta, Ogun State. He later passed away at the hospital. Nigeria has been ranked 72nd out of 188 countries in the 2025 Government AI Readiness Index, placing it among the top-performing nations in Sub-Saharan Africa. Nigerian Beauty Tips The index, published by Oxford Insights, assessed 195 governments across 69 indicators grouped under policy capacity, governance, AI infrastructure, public sector adoption, development and diffusion, and resilience. The rankings measure how prepared governments are to deploy artificial intelligence in public service delivery.
