Two suspected as NSCDC rescues abducted 15-year-old girl, in Ewohimi Edo

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Edo State Command, have rescued an abducted 15-year-old girl and arrested two suspects in connection with the crime. The teenage girl was abducted on June 19, 2026, in Oghu Community, Ewohimi, in Esan South East Local Government Area of the state. In a statement on Monday, June 22, 2026, the Command’s spokesperson, Efosa Ogbebor, said the girl was abducted after she left home to buy a phone charging cord in the area. President Bola Tinubu on Monday, appointed a former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Lagos, Professor Oluwatoyin Temitayo Ogundipe, as Chairman of the Governing Board of the National Universities Commission, NUC.
