British politician Dan Norris has been arrested on suspicion of r@pe, s£xual ass@ult, voyeurism, and upskirting. Mr Norris, currently the independent MP for North East Somerset and Hanham, was formerly a member of the Labour Party until he was suspended in April 2025 after being first arrested by Avon and Somerset Police. The force first announced that a man in his 60s had been arrested on suspicion of s£xual offences against a girl, r@pe, child abduction, and misconduct in a public office, but the force has said it is "no longer actively investigating any sexual offences against children". The National Industrial Court sitting in Abuja has restrained the Nigeria Labour Congress, the Trade Union Congress and three others from embarking on any form of industrial action or protest in the Federal Capital Territory. Justice Emmanuel Subilim issued the interim order on Monday while ruling on an ex parte application filed by the Minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike, and the Federal Capital Territory Administration. Four Buddhist monks have been arrested after a stash of p0rn, s£x toys, penis pump, and an escort list  were found during a police raid at their temple in Thailand. The religious leaders are said to have violated their monastic vows as they kept the banned items at the Phrom Sunthon Monastery in Chonburi province. Police raided the property on January 27, following reports that the monks possessed firearms and drugs. During the raid, officers found £2,070 in cash, a pistol, a p£nis enlargement pump, a contact list of pr0st!tutes, and a DVD player with a p0rn disc still loaded inside. A Chinese court has sentenced a former Minister of Justice, Tang Yijun, to life imprisonment after convicting him of receiving bribes amounting to almost $20 million over more than ten years. Tang, 64, who served as China’s justice minister from 2020 to 2023, previously occupied several senior positions, including Governor of Liaoning Province and Communist Party secretary of Ningbo. The Xiamen Intermediate People’s Court in eastern China ruled on Monday that he abused the powers of his offices to illegally amass wealth between 2006 and 2022. A Nigerian man was k!lled in the battle field while fighting for Russia against Ukraine.  Journalist Jaafar Jaafar and security analyst Zagazola Makama, confirmed the news on Monday, February 2, 2026. “Sad. He left his family in Northern Nigeria to Join Russia Army to Fight Ukraine. He was unfortunately k!lled in the battle field,” Makama wrote. 

A commercial bus has caught fire near the University of Lagos waterfront area of the Third Mainland Bridge. This was confirmed by the Lagos State Transport Management Authority (LASTMA). According to an update from the agency via its official X account, the incident occurred at the UNILAG waterfront section of the bridge, affecting traffic heading toward Iyana Oworo. The statement reads, “A commercial bus has caught fire on the Third Mainland Bridge near the UNILAG Waterfront, inward Iyana Oworo. South African authorities have disconnected the power supply to the Nigerian High Commission in Pretoria over outstanding utility services debts. The executive mayor of the city of Tshwane, Dr. Nasiphi Moya, disclosed this on her official X account on Monday, February 2, 2026.  “We ’ve disconnected electricity at the High Commission of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. They owe the city for utility services,” she wrote. 

A total sum of N1.969 trillion, being the December 2025 Federation Account revenue, has been shared among the Federal Government, states and local government councils. This was disclosed in a communiqué from the Federation Account Allocation Committee, made available on Monday by Director Press and Public Relations, Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation, Mr Bawa Mokwa. The revenue was shared at the January FAAC meeting. The communiqué stated that the N1.969 trillion total distributable revenue comprised statutory revenue of N1.084 trillion, Value Added Tax revenue of N846.507 billion and Electronic Money Transfer Levy revenue of N38.110 billion.
