The Edo State Police Command has arrested a popular TikToker, Uzebor Emmanuel, widely known online as "Aza Woman," for allegedly fabricating and spreading a false report regarding the mass abduction of students in Benin City.  The suspect had claimed in viral social media posts that several students were kidnapped on June 3, 2026, from Green Park Academy in Aduwawa and Western Boys’ College on Ikpoba Hill. The Federal High Court in Lagos has ruled that the National Assembly’s controversial N110 billion vehicle and allowance schemes, are unlawful. This also includes the spending of N40 billion on 465 vehicles for lawmakers and N70 billion in support allowances for newly elected members. The court said it breached procurement laws, constitutional obligations, and the public trust. Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force have rescued Mrs. Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul, younger sister of former Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, and her 12-year-old twin sons, Peter and Paul.  Two suspected k!dnappers were neutralised in a gun duel with police operatives during the rescue operation. Two firearms were recovered from the gang. A total of 58,187 candidates took part in the 2026 National Common Entrance Examination conducted by the National Examinations Council (NECO) for admission into Federal Government Colleges across Nigeria. The Registrar of NECO, Prof. Ibrahim Wushishi, disclosed this in Abuja while briefing journalists after monitoring the examination alongside the Minister of State for Education, Prof. Suwaiba Ahmad.
