The Oyo State High Court sitting in Ibadan has affirmed the outcome of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) 2025 national convention held on November 15 and 16, 2025.
Justice Ladiran Akintola of Court 5 delivered the ruling on Friday after reviewing an application for joinder in the matter. The court dismissed attempts by Nwachukwu and other parties seeking to halt the proceedings.
The judgment upheld all 13 reliefs sought by the claimant, Folahan Malomo Adelabi, through his counsel, Musbau Adetunmbi.
With the ruling, the leadership structure produced at the convention — including the Dr. Taminu Turaki-led National Working Committee (NWC) — has now received judicial backing.
The decision effectively settles disputes surrounding the legitimacy of the Ibadan convention and confirms the validity of the party’s internal electoral process conducted in the Oyo State capital.
Meanwhile, a fresh crisis has emerged within the PDP in Taraba State, as the newly constituted 16-member State Caretaker Committee directed members of the dissolved State Working Committee (SWC) to vacate the party’s state secretariat.
The directive was announced on Thursday evening in a statement issued by the Caretaker Committee chairman, Dr. Falack Victor. He maintained that the former SWC members no longer have the authority to occupy the secretariat following their removal from office, warning that legal action may be taken against anyone who fails to comply.
According to him, continued occupation of the party office after a lawful dissolution contravenes established legal provisions.
