Easter Holiday: NSCDC Deploys 2,280 Personnel Across Kwara

The Kwara State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has deployed 2,280 personnel across the 16 local government areas of the state to ensure a peaceful Easter celebration.

The State Commandant, Bala Bawa Bodinga, said the move was aimed at preventing any breakdown of law and order during the festive period.

Bodinga explained that the large-scale deployment was designed to preempt potential disruptions and forestall activities of criminal elements.

He noted that the Corps remained committed to safeguarding lives and property, adding that no effort would be spared in ensuring a hitch-free celebration.

In a statement issued in Ilorin by the command’s spokesman, Ayoola Michael Shola, the commandant assured residents of a visible and strategic security presence across the state.

According to the statement, operatives would be stationed at churches, recreational centres, motor parks, shopping complexes, and other critical locations to deter criminal activities.

The command further disclosed that surveillance and patrol operations had been intensified in both urban and rural areas.

It added that tactical units and rapid response squads had been placed on high alert to swiftly tackle any emerging threats.

Bodinga charged officers and men of the Corps to remain vigilant and take decisive action against individuals with criminal intentions, particularly those targeting government infrastructure.

He issued a stern warning to troublemakers, urging them to desist from any plan to disrupt public peace.

Those found culpable, he warned, would be arrested and made to face the full wrath of the law.

The commandant also extended Easter greetings to Christians, urging residents to embrace the values of love, sacrifice, and peaceful coexistence.

He called on members of the public to cooperate with security agencies by providing timely information, stressing that collective effort remains key to ensuring a safe and tranquil celebration.
