Ekiti University Confirms 2025/2026 Admissions and Recruitment Now Closed

The Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology and Environmental Sciences (FUTES), Iyin Ekiti, Prof. Gbenga Aribisala, has announced that the university has completed both admissions and staff recruitment for the 2025/2026 academic session. He urged prospective applicants and job seekers to wait for future opportunities.

Speaking during a prayer session at FUTES, Aribisala said, “Admission for the 2025/2026 session is closed, and students have resumed. Staff recruitment was completed in December, with successful candidates approved by the council. Those seeking jobs at FUTES should look elsewhere for now or wait for the next opening.”

He emphasized that the university aims to train students who will positively impact society, particularly in technology, and help tackle unemployment and environmental challenges. He praised the new staff for their quick adaptation and contributions to a supportive learning environment.

The VC also noted that the university will begin its first lecture on Monday and thanked President Bola Tinubu, Senator Opeyemi Bamidele, the Minister of Education Dr. Olatunji Alausa, and local leaders for their support. Tinubu has approved take-off grants for FUTES to fund key projects, with additional support coming through the Tertiary Education Trust Fund.

Aribisala highlighted plans to enhance staff and student welfare, including transport services, and reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to molding students in both education and character. He warned against cultism, unregistered groups, and activities that could harm the university’s reputation and called for public and private support for infrastructure and equipment.

Dr. Ezekiel Falade of the Gospel Faith Mission International encouraged students to remain focused, obedient, and God-fearing, while Oba Adeola Ajakaiye, Oluyin of Iyin Ekiti, assured students of their safety and a fair rental environment.

President Bola Tinubu formally approved the establishment of FUTES and the Federal University of Agriculture and Development Studies, Iragbiji, Osun State, on February 20, 2025, to enhance education, research, and innovation in Nigeria.
