The Federal Ministry of Finance has confirmed that all group-stage bonuses owed to the Super Eagles for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) have been released and are expected to reflect in players’ domiciliary accounts within hours.
Dr. Doris Uzoka-Anite, Minister of State for Finance, announced on her official X account that the Federal Government and the Central Bank of Nigeria coordinated to resolve previous delays, ensuring the funds are now cleared and transferred.
“All group-stage bonuses have been fully processed and cleared through the required regulatory procedures,” she said, adding that a fast-track system was used to transfer payments in foreign currency, honoring the players’ preferences.
“The final transfers to domiciliary accounts are currently in progress. Players can expect these funds to reflect starting today or tomorrow,” the minister confirmed.
Uzoka-Anite emphasized that the government remains committed to the welfare and morale of the team as they advance into the knockout stages.
