The governor of Edo state, Monday Okpebholo,has dismissed claims that the assailants behind the recent k!dnapping attack in Ekpoma community are Fulanis Fulanis. 

While speaking during a meeting he had with the Onojie of Ekpoma, His Royal Highness, Zaiki Anthony Ehizojie Abumere II, on Monday, January 12, the governor said from the CCTV footage released, it showed that the people who carried out the kidn@pping masked their faces which is not the traditional way of the Fulanis. 

He added that after the k!dnapping, some youths now decided to stage a protest and then it was hijacked by hoodlums who vandalized properties and destroyed shops.

‘’Somebody came out from his car, you k!dnapped him. You did not even ask for ransom, you did not ask for anything. The people that k!dnapped this guy masked their faces. That is not the traditional way of Fulanis. It did not go far. The next day, they came up with sentiments, protest, looting. This isnot acceptable. We must make sure we bring this people to book. We must go after them” he said
