Reality star Josephine Ijioma Otabor, popularly known as Phyna, has clarified that she never claimed she had not received her ₦100 million grand prize from the BBNaija show.
Phyna had previously raised concerns in 2023, saying she had yet to receive all the prizes she won during the show. Following exchanges between her team and BBNaija organisers, it was widely believed that the matter had been resolved.
However, a recently trending video suggested that Phyna was claiming she still had not received her prize money. Speaking during a Twitch livestream, she dismissed the claims, saying the clips were being shared with malicious intent.
In her full message, Phyna addressed those criticizing her for becoming a streamer despite winning ₦100 million, highlighting that many of them had not supported her fight to access the prize money at the time.
“They keep cutting my video. I never said I haven’t received my ₦100 million. I was just responding to people asking if the ₦100 million has already run out,” she explained.
Phyna revealed that the misleading clip almost caused a legal dispute between her and the reality show organisers, who were unhappy with the misrepresentation. She clarified that she had to inform the organisers about the edited video and asked them to watch the full Twitch video for context.
She warned bloggers to stop editing her videos to twist her words, threatening legal action against anyone whose edited clips cause her to face legal issues.
