The Minister of Defence, retired General Christopher Musa, has declared his willingness to fully back President Bola Tinubu’s administration, including efforts aimed at securing a second term in office.
Speaking during an interview on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics, Musa said the president deserves total support to succeed in his responsibilities.
“Mr President needs full backing. I will give him my complete support and do everything within my capacity to ensure he succeeds in his duty, including progressing to a second term. I am ready to give my very best,” he said.
The former Chief of Defence Staff also suggested that he may soon formally join the All Progressives Congress (APC), noting that he is currently transitioning into active politics.
When asked if he now sees himself as a politician, Musa responded, “I have not fully transitioned yet, but I am in the process.”
On the possibility of becoming an APC member, he added, “Not yet, but I believe I will. The APC has provided me with a platform from my time as Chief of Defence Staff to now, so it makes sense.”
Musa served as Nigeria’s 18th Chief of Defence Staff from June 23, 2023, until his retirement on October 30, 2025.
