JAMB Opens Portal for 2026 Direct Entry Registration, Sets Deadline

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the commencement of sales of application forms for the 2026 Direct Entry programme.

In a statement shared on its official 𝕏 handle on Monday, the examination body confirmed that eligible candidates can now begin the registration process.

According to JAMB, registration started on Monday, March 2, 2026, and will close on Saturday, April 25, 2026.

The board stressed that the registration exercise will be conducted strictly through its designated centres nationwide. It added that the purchase of e-PINs and application documents is limited exclusively to its accredited state and zonal offices across the country.

JAMB explained that the measure is intended to enhance transparency and eliminate irregularities often linked to third-party registrations.

The Direct Entry programme offers an alternative admission pathway for candidates with advanced qualifications, enabling them to gain admission directly into 200 level in Nigerian universities without sitting for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

Eligible credentials include National Diploma (ND), National Certificate in Education (NCE), Interim Joint Matriculation Board (IJMB) certificates, A-Level certificates and other approved equivalents. The route is widely utilised by polytechnic and college of education graduates seeking university admission.

The announcement follows the conclusion of the 2026 UTME registration, which ended on February 28.

Prospective applicants have been advised to begin their registration early and ensure compliance with all stipulated guidelines to avoid last-minute delays. JAMB also reiterated its warning for candidates to use only approved centres for all registration-related activities.
