Kano ADC Gives 60% Leadership Slots to Kwankwaso Camp

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Kano State has resolved to allocate 60 percent of its leadership positions to Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and his loyalists.

The agreement was reached during a stakeholders’ meeting where members deliberated and finalized the party’s leadership structure.

State chairman, Musa Ungogo, confirmed the development, explaining that Kwankwaso’s bloc would take the larger share, while the remaining 40 percent would be distributed among existing members and other groups that recently joined the party.

He noted that no specific position was set aside for former Deputy Governor Nasiru Gawuna, but added that Gawuna, now aligned with Kwankwaso, would be accommodated within his camp.

Ungogo further explained that the 40 percent allocation would be shared among members from diverse political backgrounds, including those from the Labour Party, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), defectors from the APC, members of the SDP, and individuals who were previously not politically active.

He emphasized that all stakeholders were satisfied with the arrangement, adding that positions from the congress were determined through consensus, leaving no room for disputes.

According to him, the ADC is witnessing rapid growth in Kano, attracting new members from various parties, including the ruling party and the PDP, as well as previously inactive political participants.

Ungogo also described Kwankwaso’s defection to the ADC as a significant boost, commending both local and national leaders for driving the party’s expansion in the state.
