Nigerian actress Lizzy Anjorin has addressed circulating reports that she was arrested over alleged defamation.
The rumors began after sources claimed that Nollywood stars Toyin Abraham, Iyabo Ojo, and Dayo Amusa filed a petition against her, which supposedly led to her detention. Popular influencer Esabod reported that Lizzy was held at Alagbon Police Station in Lagos, with her bail conditions set for review soon.
Responding to the claims on Instagram, Lizzy cautioned the public against believing the reports. She wrote: “Believe Esabod and Iyabo Ojo at your own risk.”
Esabod had tweeted: “Lizzy Anjorin has been arrested and remanded at Alagbon Police Station in Lagos. Her bail conditions will be reviewed from Monday for defamation of character.”
In related news, Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola Badmus, known as Portable, was reportedly arrested after a complaint from his baby mama, Ashabi Simple. The arrest followed weeks of public disputes on social media. A video circulating online showed Portable resisting officers as they tried to take him into custody, with bystanders attempting to calm the situation.
