Man United Edge Arsenal 3–2 to Spark Title Race

Manchester United breathed new life into the Premier League title race with a thrilling 3–2 win over league leaders Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday, inflicting the Gunners’ first home league loss of the season.

Goals from Patrick Dorgu and Matheus Cunha in the second half proved decisive in an entertaining encounter that saw momentum swing repeatedly between both sides.

Arsenal took the lead in the 29th minute after a dangerous ball into the box forced Lisandro Martinez into an own goal, much to the delight of the home supporters.

United responded eight minutes later, capitalising on a mistake by Martin Zubimendi, who lost possession and gifted the ball to Bryan Mbeumo. The forward calmly finished to bring the visitors level.

Shortly after the restart, United went ahead as Dorgu struck a fierce long-range effort that flew in off the crossbar in the 50th minute.

The hosts pushed relentlessly for an equaliser and thought they had salvaged a point when substitute Mikel Merino scored from close range in the 84th minute. However, United struck back almost immediately, with Cunha curling a stunning shot from outside the box into the net to seal the victory.

The result leaves Arsenal without a win in their last three league matches. Despite remaining top with 50 points from 23 games, their lead has been reduced to four points, with Manchester City and Aston Villa close behind on 46 points each.

Manchester United’s victory moves them up to fourth place on 38 points, keeping their hopes of a strong finish to the season alive.
