Former Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal, has urged Nigerians to unite in a collective effort to rescue the country, warning that the nation is currently in a state of peril.
Tambuwal made the appeal on Saturday while speaking at a colloquium organized to commemorate his 60th birthday.
The former Speaker of the House of Representatives said Nigeria urgently needs a shared commitment to national renewal driven by honest leadership, accountable governance, and unity among its people.
According to the Sokoto South Senator, the country’s present condition marks a distressing deviation from the ideals and sacrifices of its founding fathers.
He stressed that genuine recovery would only be possible when Nigerians openly acknowledge that there are deep-rooted problems in the way the country is being governed.
“We must all accept that something is fundamentally wrong with how governance is being conducted in Nigeria today,” he said. “Once we reach that agreement, we can resolve to work together to rescue the nation. Nigeria is in peril, and its salvation must be a collective effort.”
