NMA Says Blessing CEO’s Cancer Report Was Altered, Urges Authorities to Act

The Nigeria Medical Association (Delta State chapter) has stated that the cancer test result being circulated by influencer Blessing Okoro, popularly known as Blessing CEO, was falsified.

In a statement issued on April 1, the association revealed that the owner of Xinus Medical Diagnostics — the facility where Blessing claimed to have conducted the test — denied issuing any such report to her. Instead, the lab confirmed that the result being shared actually belongs to a different patient.

According to the clarification, Xinus Medical Diagnostics is based in Asaba, Delta State, not Enugu as claimed. The lab disclosed that in May 2025, it carried out a confirmatory breast cancer test for a patient identified as Mbara Deborah, following a referral from a private hospital in Asaba. The result, issued on May 9, 2025, was sent to the referring doctor.

The association explained that the original report, bearing the name of the actual patient, is the same one currently circulating online via a law firm. However, the version being presented by Blessing Okoro was altered.

The NMA emphasized that this clarification was necessary due to how the manipulated report is being used, urging the public to take note and avoid being misled.

Reaffirming its commitment to professional integrity, the association called on relevant security agencies to intervene and prevent the public from being deceived or exploited.

Blessing came online in March to claim she had stage four cancer and has raked well over N12 million from Nigerians who she pleaded to donate money for her treatment.
