President Bola Tinubu Highlights Easter’s Relevance Amid Nigeria’s Challenges
President Bola Tinubu has emphasized that the global celebration of Easter resonates deeply with Nigeria’s present realities, as the nation contends with economic pressures and security concerns. He reaffirmed that his administration remains committed to tackling these challenges.
According to Naija News, Tinubu, in a statement personally signed and released through his Special Assistant on Social Media, Dada Olusegun, stressed that genuine transformation demands sacrifice.
He further noted that his government continues to allocate resources and build international partnerships to decisively confront terrorism and banditry in the country.
On the upcoming elections, President Tinubu reiterated that the Electoral Act must guide the conduct of political parties and all political actors.
In his full message, he said:
“I rejoice with Nigerians at home and abroad as we celebrate another Easter. For Christians in Nigeria and worldwide, this season commemorates the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ, highlighting the redemptive power of salvation.
“Easter reminds us of sacrifice, resilience, and the triumph of light over darkness. For Nigeria, this message reflects our current circumstances, as we face economic pressures and security challenges while striving to overcome them.
“Despite the dedicated efforts of my administration and the courage of our Armed Forces personnel, who leave their families to confront threats in our nation, security challenges persist. Nevertheless, my administration continues to provide necessary resources and strengthen international partnerships to decisively tackle terrorism and banditry.
“Recently, I visited Jos to console the people of Plateau State, share in their grief, and offer assurances of better days ahead. Our security leaders have provided strong guarantees of progress, and we continue to receive support from international partners.
“I am heartened by the citizens’ appreciation of our efforts. I will continue to emphasize the importance of unity and national oneness. No nation can prosper in fear, and sustainable progress is impossible without peace.
“For other regions facing insecurity, I assure citizens that our concerted efforts are yielding results. I urge all Nigerians to support lawful initiatives, care for one another, and reject forces that threaten our collective well-being.
“The ongoing reforms, though challenging in the short term, are carefully designed to lead us toward shared prosperity. As I have often stated, true transformation requires sacrifice, and history shows that lasting progress often emerges from such moments.
“As we approach another electoral cycle, this season also serves as a reminder of our civic duties.
