Yoruba Nollywood actor and content creator, Bamidele Tope Saint, widely known as Okemesi, has made a public appeal for help after suffering what he described as a severe spiritual attack that reportedly left him paralysed.
According to Naija News, the actor, who has been absent from the movie scene for nearly a year, shared his ordeal during an interview with fellow actor Tony Montana on Thursday.
Okemesi revealed that the incident has drastically affected his life, leaving him without a home and in dire need of financial assistance.
Expressing concern during the interview, Tony Montana said he was deeply saddened by Okemesi’s condition, noting that it had become difficult even for fans to recognise him, and asked what had happened.
Responding, Okemesi attributed his condition to a spiritual attack, praying for divine protection against such experiences. He explained that he was initially taken to Island Hospital, where donations helped cover his medical bills. However, his condition reportedly deteriorated, prompting those around him to search his phone for contacts of family members.
He said his elder brother, who resides in Osogbo, asked that he be brought to him. Upon arrival, his brother reportedly took him straight to an Islamic cleric for spiritual intervention. Okemesi claimed the attack left him unable to walk or speak, but said prayers and divine intervention gradually restored his strength. He added that after receiving spiritual items from the cleric, he was able to start walking with crutches later that same day.
The actor further alleged that after leaving the cleric and moving in with his brother for care, his brother also experienced misfortune, including a road accident and marital issues. As a result, Okemesi said he had to leave and began staying on church premises.
Lamenting his current situation, Okemesi disclosed that he has no stable accommodation, struggles to feed, and is relying solely on the goodwill of his fans. He pleaded for support, especially assistance with securing accommodation, as he works towards rebuilding his life.
