Galatasaray head coach Okan Buruk has confirmed that Victor Osimhen is fit and available ahead of the club’s UEFA Champions League encounter against Atletico Madrid.
The Turkish side will host Diego Simeone’s men at RAMS Park on Wednesday, with Osimhen having returned to full training after his involvement with Nigeria at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
The striker had earlier sparked injury concerns after limping off during Nigeria’s semi-final loss to Morocco, which kept him out of the Super Eagles’ third-place match against Egypt. However, Buruk dismissed any worries, stating that Osimhen has fully rejoined the squad.
“Osimhen joined the team yesterday and trained with us. It was a good session,” Buruk said ahead of the match.
Off the field, Osimhen also drew attention following Nigeria’s third-place win over Egypt. He was seen alongside Paul Onuachu, Wilfred Ndidi and Chidozie Awaziem leaving the mixed zone after removing their national team kits. The players later travelled together on a private jet, reportedly making a brief stop in Lagos for the birthday celebration of Tunde Perry before returning to their respective clubs.
