SAD : three Kebbi officials die on way to APC convention in Abuja

Three members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) delegation from Kebbi State have died in a road accident while travelling to attend the party’s just-concluded national convention in Abuja.

The victims were identified as Hadiza Sabo Warrah, a councillor representing Warrah Ward; Sahabi Alheri, councillor representing Birnin Yauri Ward in Ngaski Local Government Area; and Abubakar Sadiq, Senior Special Assistant to the Kebbi State Governor on social media.

According to a statement issued by the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the governor, Yahaya Sarki, the incident occurred when the victims were struck by a moving vehicle while attempting to cross the road. Their vehicle had reportedly stopped along the route during their journey to the Federal Capital Territory for the APC convention.

Sarki said the three victims died as a result of injuries sustained in the accident.

Reacting to the development, Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, expressed shock over the incident and extended his condolences to the families of the deceased.

The governor described their deaths as a significant loss to the state, noting that their contributions to the development of Kebbi would be greatly missed.

He also prayed for the forgiveness of their sins and for Allah to grant them eternal rest.
