Sola Giwa has resigned from his position as Special Adviser on Transportation to Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
The announcement was made on Wednesday via his official 𝕏 page, where he revealed that he stepped down from the role a day earlier.
During his time in office, Giwa contributed to transport reforms under the state government’s THEMES+ agenda, working on initiatives aimed at improving Lagos’ transportation system.
He expressed gratitude to Governor Sanwo-Olu for the opportunity to serve and for the confidence reposed in him throughout his tenure.
Giwa explained that his resignation is driven by his political ambition, as he prepares to contest for a seat in the House of Representatives. He is seeking to represent Lagos Island Federal Constituency II at the National Assembly.
According to him, the decision followed extensive consultations and careful consideration, as he now looks to take on a new role focused on lawmaking and effective representation of his constituents at the federal level.
