Popular content creator Iniobong Esther Louis, widely known as Sunshine, has been buried in Lagos amid grief and mourning.
Naija News reports that Sunshine, aged 34, passed away on January 9, 2026, following complications arising from fibroid surgery, which reportedly began in December 2025.
According to her friend, Chidera Madu, the late content creator, who was from Nnung Udoe Itak in Ikono Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, was first taken to Orchid General Hospital. However, due to the nationwide doctors’ strike at the time, she was said to have received only pain management without a full medical assessment, prompting her transfer to another hospital on January 2 for proper care.
After her passing, friends and family appealed to the public for financial support to ensure Sunshine was given a befitting burial.
The burial ceremonies began on Wednesday at the Lagos Island General Hospital in Marina. Her remains were later conveyed to Atan Cemetery in Yaba, where she was laid to rest in the presence of family members, friends, and colleagues who gathered to pay their last respects.
