Tinubu Unbeatable in 2027 — Atiku’s Son Declares as He Defects to APC

Abba Atiku, son of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, has officially joined the All Progressives Congress (APC), declaring that no political party or candidate can prevent President Bola Tinubu from winning re-election in 2027.

Abba made the statement on Monday in Yola after receiving his APC membership card at Gwadabawa Ward, Yola North Local Government Area of Adamawa State.

Explaining his decision to join the ruling party, Abba said he was motivated by the economic and human development policies of the Tinubu administration, which he described as impactful and inclusive.

He stated that Nigerians are increasingly recognising the president’s leadership qualities, noting that Tinubu does not govern along ethnic or religious lines but prioritises merit in appointments.

According to Abba, the scale of infrastructural and human capital development under the current administration has been impressive, urging citizens to support the president to enable him to sustain the reforms.

“The president needs the backing of Nigerians to continue delivering good governance. We must mobilise people across party lines to support him,” he said.

Presenting Abba with his membership card, the APC Zonal Vice Chairman for Adamawa Central, Alhaji Isa Bagalti, said the defection further consolidated the party’s strength ahead of the 2027 elections.

Bagalti added that the political landscape makes it clear that no opposition party or candidate poses a serious challenge to President Tinubu.

Similarly, APC stalwart in Adamawa State, Alhaji Jamil Yusuf, said the president has no credible opponent, describing other aspirants as lacking the capacity to challenge him.

He dismissed claims by potential contenders as unrealistic, advising them to redirect their resources elsewhere, insisting that leadership should be based on competence rather than financial influence.

Abba Atiku’s move comes amid differing political affiliations within the Atiku family. While his elder brother, Adamu Atiku, remains a prominent member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and serves as Commissioner for Works and Energy Development under Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Fintiri, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar is reportedly pursuing his 2027 presidential ambition on the platform of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
