
Popular Nigerian comedian and social media personality, Samuel Perry, widely known as Broda Shaggi, has reportedly been hospitalized after sustaining a gunshot injury while filming a comedy skit in the Sango-Ota area of Ogun State.
The incident reportedly occurred on Sunday afternoon as the entertainer was creating content with members of his production team beneath the Sango-Ota bridge.
Sources familiar with the situation told Vanguard that the comedian suffered the gunshot wound during the filming session.
A police source, who spoke anonymously because he was not authorized to discuss the matter publicly, confirmed that the entertainer was quickly taken to a hospital following the incident.
“He was filming a skit under the Sango-Ota bridge when the gunshot injury occurred. We are still unclear about the circumstances, but members of his crew who were there rushed him to the hospital immediately,” the source stated.
According to the source, the comedian was first taken to Blooming Care Hospital in the Alakuko area of Lagos State, where he received initial treatment.
He was later transferred to Duchess Hospital in the Government Residential Area of Ikeja for further medical care.
Sources say he is currently recovering at the facility.
When contacted, the spokesperson for the Ogun State Police Command, Oluseyi Babaseyi, said the case had not been officially reported to the command.
“The incident was said to have happened in Ogun State, but it has not been formally reported,” he said during a phone interview.
