‘I’ll Slap You’ — Tension Boils Over At ADC Stakeholders’ Meeting In Abuja {VIDEO}

A stakeholders’ meeting of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Abuja descended into chaos on Saturday following a violent disruption during discussions ahead of the party’s senatorial primary election.

The party leaders, including the Senator representing the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Ireti Kingibe, had assembled before the distribution of materials for the senatorial primary election conducted on Saturday.

The chairman of the election committee, Abubakar Adams Chika, alongside the committee secretary, David Godwin, had invited stakeholders to the party’s FCT secretariat to outline procedures for the exercise.

However, the meeting reportedly turned rowdy after one Tijani Mubarak and four others stormed the venue carrying sticks and disrupted proceedings.

Tijani allegedly confronted the committee chairman over claims that an invitation for a private meeting had been ignored, sparking a heated argument captured in a viral video circulating online.

Reports indicated that Tijani opposed the emergence of Ireti Kingibe as the ADC candidate for the FCT senatorial election, despite her eventual declaration as winner of the primary.

Amaechi Declares Himself Best ADC Presidential Hope

Meanwhile, former Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi, has described himself as the most qualified and electable presidential aspirant within the ADC ahead of the 2027 general election.

Amaechi, who also served as Minister of Transportation, said his experience in leadership positions and comparatively younger age gave him an edge over other contenders seeking the party’s presidential ticket.

He made the remarks during an interview on Arise Television on Friday.

Other notable figures in the ADC presidential race include former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar and former Northern Nigeria Development Company boss, Mohammed Hayatu-Deen.

Speaking on why the party should choose him over other aspirants, Amaechi pointed to the numerous public offices he has occupied over the years as proof of his capability.
