The Minister of Power, Joseph Tegbe, has urged Nigerians not to panic over a purported plan to increase electricity tariffs. He insists that the Federal Government is more concerned about improving power supply across the country. Tegbe gave the assurance in Ibadan, Oyo State, during the groundbreaking ceremony for five mini-grid projects designed to provide electricity to communities in the state, Naija News reports. The projects have a combined power capacity of 17.7 megawatts and will also include a battery storage system capable of storing 17.74 megawatt-hours of electricity. The Finnish appeal court has reduced Simon Ekpa’s prison sentence from six years to four while upholding his conviction on terrorism-related charges. This was reported earlier by Finnish public broadcaster Yle on Thursday, October 15, which said the court upheld findings that the pro-Biafran agitator participated in a terrorist organisation and publicly incited crimes for terrorist purposes. The Päijät-Häme District Court sentenced Ekpa to six years in September 2025 after convicting him of terrorism-related offences, aggravated tax fraud and violations of the Lawyers Act. A video of a Nigerian landlord is making waves on social media after claiming his tenant punched him in the face after serving him a notice of a rent increase. The viral video shows the landlord, whose left eye is completely bandaged.
