Two individuals were injured on Sunday morning after a mini truck conveying perishable items overturned on the Third Mainland Bridge near the University of Lagos waterfront.

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), in an update shared on X, confirmed that the affected vehicle had been successfully removed from the road, although the process of transferring its cargo was still in progress.

According to the agency, “The vehicle involved in the earlier reported accident on the Third Mainland Bridge by Unilag waterfront inward the Island has been finally recovered.”

LASTMA added that the offloading of the goods was ongoing, pending the arrival of another truck to complete the transfer.

Videos released by the authority showed the overturned truck on its side, as officials and workers moved the perishable items into another vehicle to ease traffic flow.

Earlier, LASTMA had reported that the incident involved a single mini truck accident, resulting in two casualties. The agency noted that traffic was being effectively managed by its personnel, with support from the police, while arrangements were made to clear the scene completely.
